Ethel is a graduate of the University of Toronto where she received a Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy. Ethel pursued Post Graduate Studies to earn an Intermediate Certificate of Manual and Manipulative Therapy (Part A) from the Orthopaedic Division of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association.
Ethel brings professional commitment and strong clinical skills to her practice. Her background includes hospital based practice, a position as clinical tutor in orthopaedics at the University of Toronto, and 27 years of experience in private practice and management at East York Physiotherapy Centre.
The practice has evolved with a special interest in orthopaedics and management of sports injuries for clients of all ages.
East York Physiotherapy Centre was one of the first sole proprietor physiotherapy practices in Ontario to receive accreditation from CARF, The Rehabilitation Accreditation Commission in 1997.
Treatment philosophy reflects thorough screening and assessments, education of the clients regarding the nature of the injury and preventative strategies to return to a healthy lifestyle.
Karen M. Seymour PT, MSc.P.T.
Karen brings a multi national educational work experience to East York Physiotherapy Centre. She obtained her Masters of Science in Physiotherapy from the University of Southern California in 1985. At Curtin University in Perth, Australia she obtained a certificate in Manual and Manipulative Therapy and at Concordia University in Montreal she obtained an under-grad phys-ed degree.
Karen joined East York Physiotherapy Centre in October 2009 and works concurrently at North York General Hospital in Occupational Health doing Ergonomic Assessments and Physical Demands Analysis and previously worked at the Sports Medicine Clinic.
Karen is a physiotherapist who practices what she preaches with her interest in keeping people active. Her expertise extends to the hockey world where she is a Level III trainer and Level I coach and actively participates in skiing, tennis and water sports.
Frances Partipilo PT, BSc.P.T.
Frances Partipilo began her career with a degree in Physical Education in 1994 from McMaster University. She obtained her Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy from University of Toronto in 1998.
Frances brings to the clinic a strong clinical background with seventeen years of expertise in complex orthopaedic rehabilitation in both the hospital and the community setting. Her post graduate training includes Liscensure with the Acupuncture Foundation of Canada, Certification as a Stott Pilates Instructor in 2006 and Level III manual therapy training with the Orthopaedic Division of CPA. She is currently pursuing her full certification in Fascial Manipulation using the Stecco Method.
Frances has a keen interest in promotion of healthy fitness. Her treatment philosophy involves, education for all clients regarding their condition and the preparation of individualized one on one treatment strategies. These may include exercise prescription, soft tissue mobilization techniques, manual therapy, acupuncture and Fascial Manipulation.
Maureen Casullo, Office Manager
Maureen is a master of customer service excellence. Maureen has twenty-three years of experience with East York Physiotherapy Centre.
